MRLF endorses local candidates in races in Andover, Brooklyn Park

MINNEAPOLIS —Delegates to the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation, AFL-CIO voted June 13 to endorse candidates in local races in Andover and Brooklyn Park.

Delegates endorsed Val Holthus for Andover City Council At Large.

Delegates also endorsed: Hollies Winston for Brooklyn Park Mayor; Terry Parks for Brooklyn Park City Council, East District; Wynfred Russell for Brooklyn Park City Council, West District.

Val Holthus is seeking a second term on the Andover City Council. She has worked for the Anoka-Hennepin School District since 1997. She has been active in Anoka Hennepin Education Minnesota and will become AHEM president next month.

Hollies Winston, candidate for Brooklyn Park Mayor, has served as a member of the Brooklyn Park Budget Advisory Committee.

Terry Parks, candidate for Brooklyn Park City Council, East District, is running for re-election for a second term. He is a retired member of Minneapolis Firefighters Local 82.

Wynfred Russell, candidate for Brooklyn Park City Council, West District, is a public health professional and educator.
